Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Fri., March 5, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m., Florida TaxWatch will host the 2021 State of the Taxpayer Day – Virtual Event. This annual event is typically held in person on the Wednesday evening after the Tuesday start of Florida’s legislative session, but it will be held via Zoom this year, allowing the state’s elected officials to speak directly to the interests of hard-working taxpayers and their families despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attendees will hear from several state leaders, including Attorney General Ashley Moody, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, and Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried. Florida TaxWatch leadership will also discuss recent research findings and reports, as well as recommendations for legislative measures to help Florida recover from the global pandemic, focusing on COVID-19 liability protections and e-fairness.
