Elizabeth “Liz” Hockensmith

Research Analyst

Liz joined TaxWatch in August 2022 as a Research Analyst after more than 12 years with the State of Florida. Liz brings over a decade of experience in legislative, policy, and programmatic research and analysis, as well as expertise in behavioral health, criminal justice, safety net programs and services, and health and human services-related programs and services.

 

Liz came to TaxWatch from the Governor’s Office of Policy and Budget where she was the policy and budget analyst for the Florida Department of Corrections. Prior to working in the Governor’s Office, Liz spent more than a decade working as a policy and program analyst and legislative liaison for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program at the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Liz was born and raised in Tallahassee and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Florida. Liz and her husband, Nate, live in Tallahassee and have a wonderful, gregarious little girl named McKenzie.
