The Florida Cabinet Recognizes July 2019 As “TaxWatch Productivity Awards Recognition Month”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, in honor of the TaxWatch Productivity Awards (TPA) program’s 30th year, a Cabinet Resolution, sponsored by Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, officially designated July 2019 as “TaxWatch Productivity Awards Recognition Month.”

Originally known as the Davis Productivity Awards and most recently the Prudential Productivity Awards, this nationally unique program presented by Kyra Solutions, Inc. recognizes and rewards the dedication and hard work of state employees who find ways to improve services, increase efficiencies, and save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars each year.

Since its creation in 1989, the TaxWatch Productivity Awards program has received more than 16,000 nominations and highly dedicated and productive state employees and work groups have produced more than $10 billion of added value to Florida’s taxpayers in the past three decades.

“Florida TaxWatch is very excited about not only reaching the TPA program’s 30th year, but also to have it publicly recognized by the Governor and Cabinet of this great state. This program originated from the vision of the late J.E. Davis and A.D. Davis, co-founders of Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. and co-founders of FloridaTaxWatch. We have managed to accomplish so much in the last three decades, and I wholeheartedly believe they would be proud,” said Florida TaxWatch President & CEO Dominic M. Calabro.

“Kyra Solutions is excited and proud to be the lead sponsor of TaxWatch Productivity Awards recognizing state employees who go above and beyond their call of duty to make our state more efficient and effective,” said Piyush Patel, Kyra Solutions, Inc. President & CEO and Florida TaxWatch Treasurer.

“The Florida Council of 100 is proud to be a part of the TaxWatch Productivity Awards in which it has continued our 30-year joint relationship that recognizes the outstanding stewards of the public’s money. It continues to be important to ensure that good stewards are recognized by their peers,” said Bob Ward, President & CEO of the Florida Council of 100.

“2019 is a big year for Florida TaxWatch with the organization reaching its 40th anniversary and the TPA program hitting its 30th year. To have this outstanding program recognized by Governor DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet is truly an honor,” said Florida TaxWatch Chairman former Florida Senator Pat Neal.

“The TaxWatch Productivity Awards program has been instrumental in significantly and measurably increasing productivity in the state of Florida. I’m proud of Florida TaxWatch for maintaining the longevity of this unique program, and I’m grateful that the Governor and the Cabinet recognize this program’s significant return on investment,” said former U.S. Senator George LeMieux, Florida TaxWatch Chairman-Elect.

This year’s nominations have been collected, and winners will be announced at a Tallahassee news conference later this summer, with awards ceremonies to be held across the state. For more information about the TaxWatch Productivity Awards, click here.
