Tallahassee, Fla. - Governor Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet honored the Florida TaxWatch Prudential Productivity Awards program and state employees by designating June as Prudential Productivity Awards Month. The awards program honors hundreds of state employees each year for their innovative cost-saving ideas that have reduced costs and improved services for Florida taxpayers.

"The Prudential Productivity Awards program helps shine a light on the achievements of Florida's committed state employees who are working every day to make Florida a great place to live and work, while also saving taxpayers' hard-earned dollars," said Dominic M. Calabro, President and CEO of Florida TaxWatch. "I commend the Florida Cabinet for their commitment to fostering increased efficiency among all state employees, and appreciate the value they place on this unique program."

While local Tallahassee-area winners were recognized at a luncheon in Tallahassee on March 12, regional luncheon awards ceremonies will honor award winners in Orlando - June 23 (Westin Lake Mary), Miami - June 24 (Renaissance Miami), Tampa - June 25 (TPepin Hospitality Centre) and Jacksonville - June 26 (Epping Forest Yacht Club).

"Prudential is proud to support this innovative program that has inspired our state's best employees to improve services and reduce costs for the taxpayers of Florida by implementing private sector values of efficiency and cost savings," said Mike Jennings, Vice President of Government Affairs for Prudential and former TaxWatch Chairman. "The commitment of these incredible public servants to work together to build a better Florida means that state government can direct taxpayers' hard earned money to the vital services that make the Sunshine State a great place to live, raise a family and retire."

"The Florida Lottery is a proud sponsor of the Prudential Productivity Awards Program, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come," said Florida Lottery Secretary, Cynthia O'Connell. "The Lottery takes pride in honoring the dedicated state employees who work hard to ensure that Florida runs as efficiently as possible."

"These award-winning state employees are truly making a difference for all Florida families, and AvMed is honored to help recognize them for their collective savings of nearly $9 billion over 27 years," said Brian Brown, Director of Sales & Retention at AvMed Health Plans, providing health care coverage to Floridians for more than 40 years. "As Chairman of the judges panel, I have personally seen the efforts of more than 500 individuals and teams of state employees to improve the services that Floridians depend on, and I commend each of the 2015 award winners for their exceptional achievement."
