Florida TaxWatch Statement About The Florida First Step Act

Florida TaxWatch President and CEO Dominic M. Calabro released the following statement regarding Senator Jeff Brandes' Florida First Step Act –

Florida TaxWatch research has shown for ten years that smart justice initiatives will help reduce recidivism, increase public safety, expand opportunities for ex-offenders, and better the quality of life for Florida families, all while saving the state taxpayers tens of millions their hard-earned dollars. We encourage the Florida Legislature to join us in supporting The First Step Act, and we commend Senator Jeff Brandes for his commitment to smart justice.
