Most public employees not assigned to another class, including clerical, professional, and administrative staff and most teachers. Regular Class members make up the large majority of DROP participants. |
| Special Risk Class |
Law enforcement officers, firefighters, correctional officers, and certain emergency medical and related personnel who meet specific eligibility criteria. |
| Special Risk Administrative Support Class |
Former Special Risk Class members who have been reassigned to a non-special-risk support position. |
| Senior Management Service Class |
Senior managerial and policymaking positions, such as agency heads, city and county managers, and appointed school superintendents. |
| Elected Officers’ Class |
Qualifying elected state, county, municipal, and school board officials. |
