Florida TaxWatch Releases Taxpayers' Guide to Florida’s 2020-21 State Budget

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida TaxWatch (FTW) today released its Taxpayers’ Guide to Florida’s FY2020-21 State Budget, providing an overview and analysis of the record $92.27 billion FY2020-21 Florida State Budget which was signed by Gov. DeSantis on June 29 and took effect July 1, 2020. The FY2020-21 budget, originally passed by the Florida Legislature totaling more than $93.2 billion, was cut with a record $1 billion in vetoes by Gov. DeSantis in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This report, along with additional FTW research and analysis, may be found online in the Florida Budget Hub, the go-to resource for understanding all of the ways in which Florida's state government spends taxpayers’ hard-earned tax dollars.

Florida TaxWatch Chairman and former Florida State Senator Pat Neal said, “As a business leader and a taxpayer, I believe it is critical for Floridians to understand where their tax dollars are going, particularly in our current unpredictable fiscal environment. I am honored to lead Florida’s premier government watchdog group and we are proud to present this annual guide to keep taxpayers informed and hold government accountable.”
